Passion South of the Equator

As you may have guessed due to my occasional raving, our new favourite drink is the Pisco Sour. Fortunately for us, there was a celebration of Pisco and Pisco Sours at a contemporary art museum so we hustled our buns on over to learn a thing or two (and taste some Pisco!).

While I was there, I took this video of the barman in one of the booths making me a passion fruit flavoured Pisco Sour. Note that he briefly throws together a different (and much less interesting drink) called a chilcan in the middle and hands it to someone else, so you’ll have to ignore that bit.

We drank it down in the pursuit of knowledge (piscology?). Yes, it was DELICIOUS!

And here I am, the eternal worrying parent. You do know that you are not supposed to eat raw egg?????? I hope that the alcohol was strong!

I have to say that raw egg pisco sours definitely beat the lumpy, yet safe “egg nog” custard I attempted!

This wont let me write what I want to

We never even consider the eggs, but we turn down fresh salad unless I make it myself, heheh. Odd rules we choose to live by. Sooner or later we are looking forward to trying the local ceviche (raw fishy bits in lemon juice). Wish us luck with that…

      What happening with site fight?

  3. Romey Booth says:

We do need to work on egg nog – perhaps more liquor and then just not to worry!
I think the site fight is resolved. I had posted what I wanted to say, but it said it had already done it, so I posted it again, and etc etc. One of us screwed up, so I am blaming the web site…….

Surely more liquor is worth experimenting with. It may be a bit odd this year if its the middle of summer.

christina, i thought your custard was extremely delicious just for the record…and speaking of not supposed to eat i had boeuf tartare the other day at lunch, raw ground beef with raw egg yolk mixed in…a parisian favourite (romey, i just have a glass of burgundy with it and try to forget that where i come from you would probably be calling poison control after eating that…) buen provecho
