The Past Intruding

So I was walking down the street here in the neighborhood we live in, Barranco, when under my feet I saw this sewer lid. Global Crossing was one of the companies that purchased fiber optic undersea cables from my previous employer. This lid very likely means that one of Peru’s big fiber optic cables runs up the local beach and underneath the streets of Barranco on the way to a Cable Station somewhere. There is likely a lot of the old terminal equipment somewhere nearby in a building with no windows 😉
