Pyour Business Is Not Wanted
This is the annoying message I’ve been getting recently while trying to use our bank cards here in Peru. The bank we use, Scotiabank, actually has branches everywhere here. You may have noticed that one of the words was mispelled, so I figured maybe the local branch was involved. Unfortunately (and irritatingly) when I presented myself in local branch I got only shrugs, which I took to mean that I should contact our home branch in Ottawa.
It turns out there was some sort of ‘security’ feature on the card that senses when you need money from 6,400km away and helpfully shuts off your card.
Now that one of our cards works again, maybe Christina will take me out for a steak dinner.
